WoW Story Prologue

Prologue of World of Warcraft Story:

Vanthon becomes the age in which a man has the right to become a paladin. Just as he leaves his home, he hears awful screams coming from the opposite direction as the towns' people are fleeing a scene of madness. The Scourge has attacked the village, leaving nothing unharmed. Unfortunately, the rangers present in the city were outnumbered and proved to be no match for the Scourge as they fed off the Lich King's power and influence. The village was pilfered for everything that it was worth. Absolutely nothing was left unturned or unharmed. Many were slain during the event and many more were left injured. Vanthon was one of the lucky few to survive the ordeal, left only with a scar across his perfect face, but his entire family as well as the rest of the village was left badly bruised and broken. Slowly, the village began to pick up the pieces of what was left. However, life for Vanthon could never be the same again. On top of the loss of his family, others attempted to chip away at his own being as the vain and conceited blood elves lifted their noses in disgust at the battered elf. What they didn't realize though is that his emotional scars were more grotesque than the one found on his face.  Vanthon did not allow their criticism to get the best of him as he still continues his journey towards becoming a paladin, to fight for what he believes is morally right as well as to settle a personal vendetta against the Scourge.

Meanwhile, Aerianne's life is traveling down a different way as her parents own a small time inn in Silvermoon City.  Hoping that their daughter will eventually learn the family business and inherit the inn, they are surprised and appalled when they discover otherwise. A noteworthy event in Aerianne's childhood in which a group of travelers came to stay at the inn has changed her interests completely. There were 4 young blood elves, a paladin, a rogue, a mage, and a hunter, who traveled together, seeing what the world had to offer. Young Aerianne was immediately drawn to the mystique surrounding the female mage and was intrigued. She often would slip into her room and listen to the many stories of her adventures with her fellow companions. Although her parents disapproved, the mage gave Aerianne a book of spells before she left, saying that it was the same book that was given to her by her own parents. Aerianne grew to treasure that book and she read it every chance she could get. Now Aerianne hopes to be like the mage she met years ago, traveling the world to see what's beyond the walls of Silvermoon and honing her skills to become a powerful mage.
